Handmade Rwandan Doll

This doll is a unique product of Rwanda and is about 14 inches tall. She was made by a seamstress in Gesenyi, which is on the western side of Rwanda near Lake Kivu and the border with the Democtratic Republic of Congo. Dina works as a seamstress with an American friend of KCF who has moved to Rwanda and continues to help us in many ways. Dina made this doll from the remannts of shirts that she sews and sells. The doll is wearing the traditional garb of Rwandan women and carries a baby on her back just as is done in Rwanda.
